# Every Yarn

> A public fiber arts encyclopedia about yarns, brands, and everything in between. Login is optional, and website is built accessibility first to WCAG 2.2 accessiblity standards.

## About

Every Yarn is a publicly open and accessible yarn encyclopedia for fiber enthusiasts. The data is verified, checked, and scrutinized, so the data is incredibly accurate. Our goal is to make fiber arts related data like yarn, brand, fiber weights, fiber materials, and more easier to access for those doing research on their own yarns, items they are interested in, or brands they want to learn more about. Finarina LLC, the parent company of Every Yarn, is a certified Iberian Pennisula Disabled Woman Owned Small Minority Business Enterprise in the state of Connecticut. Our staff include LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse people.

The database currently contains 11088 yarns from 560 brands. Information includes yarn weight (lace through super bulky), fiber materials, put-ups, colorways, and retail pricing data.

## Content Types

### Yarns
Each yarn entry includes: name, brand, fiber weight category (e.g., worsted, DK, fingering), fiber material composition with percentages, retail price, weight and yardage, available put-ups (different skein sizes), colorways, and external reference links.

### Brands
Brand profiles include: name, year founded, website, description, and associations with other brands (e.g., renamed, absorbed by).

### Blog Posts
Articles about yarn, fiber arts, and the crafting community.
